Our Saperavi grapes come from Kachreti, a village in the Gurjaani municipality of Kakheti, where the Alazani Valley stretches between the Caucasus Mountains to the north and the Gombori Range to the south. This unique position creates a natural amphitheater for vines, with hot, dry summers tempered by cool mountain breezes. The soils here are a mix of clay, sand, and limestone-rich alluvium, offering excellent drainage while retaining enough moisture for deep-rooted vines. Long hours of sunlight and significant diurnal temperature shifts allow the grapes to develop intense color, ripe tannins, and layered aromas — the signature of Kachreti’s bold, age-worthy reds. This is a terroir where the power of the land meets the patience of tradition.
